Travel + Leisure has its list of 100 best hotels in the world, and it has two Canadian stays.

The rankings are based on the opinion of Travel + Leisure readers who rated hotels out of 100 for amenities, location, service, food and overall value.

From luxurious lodges in Tanzania to quaint cottages in the Hamptons, the 100 best hotels in the world are linked by “first-class service, first-class locations and outstanding amenities”.

“Adventure never ends, even if we stay close to home,” writes Travel + Leisure.

“And an excellent hotel can still put a smile on your face, especially when the world is turbulent.”

Manoir Hovey, Quebec: 98.48 / 100

Manoir Hovey, located in the village of North Hatley, Quebec, was ranked 23rd on the list.

With just 36 rooms and suites, the hotel is housed in a 19th century mansion modeled after George Washington’s home in Mount Vernon.

The Manoir Hovey, a Relais & Châteaux hotel, gives the Manoir Hovey an “elegant rural atmosphere” with its well-placed antiques, fine textiles and curated art, writes Travel + Leisure.

The Wickaninnish Inn, British Columbia: 97/100

The Wickaninnish Inn in Tofino, British Columbia ranked 80th, tied with hotels in France, the Maldives and Indonesia.

The inn, another Relais & Châteaux hotel, sits on a picturesque cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It’s a popular place for weather-watching and adventure, writes Travel + Leisure.
