The UK government said Monday it would lift COVID-19 testing requirements for fully vaccinated people coming to England.

Game Status: Those who are not fully vaccinated “only need to take a pre-departure test and a PCR test on or before the second day after arrival in England,” UK Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said tweeted.

  • Currently are travelers necessary to be tested two days before leaving for England. These requirements will remain in place until February 11th.

What you say: “If we make the right calls about vaccines and booster shots at the right time, we now have one of the most open travel sectors in the world,” Shapps said.

  • “Removing restrictions before half-time means easier [travel] Experience for passengers, especially fully vaccinated ones, and stability for the sector throughout 2022,” he added.
  • British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said lifting testing requirements for those vaccinated “will show this country is open for business, open for travelers,” per AP.
