US Travel, WASHINGTON, November 4, 2021 – After nearly two years of restrictions and ongoing economic loss, the United States will reopen its borders to vaccinated international travelers today – a major milestone in the recovery of our industry and our efforts to restore domestic international travel build up market.

The effects of border closure restrictions were felt across every segment of our industry – with losses of nearly $ 300 billion in export revenue and more than a million American jobs from March 2020 to October this year.

Today vaccinated travelers from around the world can once again visit America by land and air and experience all that our great country has to offer. The reopening will allow us to reconnect with the global community and reunite friends and families.

Share the good news: Post a welcome message on social media or communicate with local media to highlight the positive impact international visitors have on your community or business. What’s Next: There is more work to be done to ensure an even recovery. This contains:

  • Full resumption of processing visitor visas at U.S. embassies and consulates to reduce the backlog for future visitors.
  • Ensure sufficient resources for CBP and TSA to safely handle an increase in international arrivals.
  • Provision of emergency aid for Brand USA.

Our collaboration with Congress and Administration continues to ensure a safe return to travel for all segments of our industry. We will keep you informed of developments as international travel resumes.
