On Monday, the Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Line confirmed that all future guests must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to their departure.

The news comes a few days after Uniworld’s parent company The Travel Corporation (TTC) announced that it would do the same for all of its tour guests.

The policy is effective immediately and requires guests to provide evidence of an approved COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca Vaxzevria or Johnson & Johnson) with the last dose given at least two weeks before departure.

In Uniworld’s announcement, the Riverline said the decision had been made to prioritize the health and safety of its guests and crew members and to make the travel experience as smooth as possible.

“With many of the countries we are now traveling to require proof of vaccination in order to enter museums, restaurants and historic sites, our new requirement will ensure that all of our guests are not only protected but also enjoy their river cruise experience to the full can do so without restrictions, ”says Uniworlds CEO and President Ellen Bettridge.

The vaccination requirement won’t fully normalize the guest experience for Uniworld – the line still requires guests to wear a mask when walking in public areas, including the lobby, and when social distancing is not an option. Local mask requirements at the destinations that Uniworld visits also remain in place.
