The Hyatt Centric in Downtown Memphis, part of the One Beale development, became awarded as one of the best new hotels of 2021 in a USA TODAY poll. The hotel ranked seventh on a list of hotels from around the country.
The hotel opened in April. The top 10 list also included hotels in New York City, Chicago, Miami, and Las Vegas, including a Hilton-branded hotel and a new Four Seasons location.
A panel of experts teamed up with the 10Best editors to select a list of nominees, and the top 10 winners were determined by a referendum from USA TODAY readers.

A review of the hotel read: “If you’re in Memphis to soak up the Beale Street atmosphere, staying at the only hotel on Beale Street makes sense for the neighborhood’s music, sights and grilled food. Hyatt has converted an 1879 manufacturing facility into indoor and outdoor event space with original brick walls and river views. The hotel restaurant serves Latin-inspired dishes inside or on the terrace overlooking the Mississippi River; Cocktails are available in the lounge bar or in the Beck and Call on the roof. “
A Beale developer Chance Carlisle said it was an honor and the hotel had been well received by Memphians and visitors.
“I think what makes me happiest is the welcome we get from our guests,” he said. “The awards are nice, the hotel satisfaction ratings are even better.”

Another USA TODAY poll named the restaurant Dory in Memphis one of the top 10 new restaurants from 2021.
