Ahead of what is possibly the coldest winter in years with lots of rainfall, the personal finance website WalletHub released its report on the best winter vacation destinations for 2021, as well as accompanying videos and expert commentary, to complement the money-saving selection of Best Travel Credit Cards, according to the latest forecast from the Old Farmer’s Almanac .

WalletHub focused on cost and convenience rather than scenic beauty, comparing nearly 70 of the largest U.S. metropolitan areas, grouped by warm and cold weather. Each destination was analyzed on the basis of 39 key metrics, primarily the cost and effort of getting to each location, but also other indicators such as weather forecast, safety and diverse activities.

  • Under cold travel destinations, Louisville, Kentucky, has the lowest Price for a 3-star hotel room, $ 43, which is 2.8 times lower than Worcester, Massachusetts, the highest-valued city of $ 119.
  • Under warm travel destinations, Augusta, Georgia, has the lowest Price for a 3-star hotel room, $ 43, which is 3.9 times less than Honolulu, the highest-valued city of $ 168.
  • Under cold travel destinations, Chicago has the most Restaurants (per square root of population), May 6, 2004, 6.3 times more than Bridgeport, Connecticut, the city with the least 0.964293.
  • Under warm travel destinations, Orlando has the most Restaurants (per square root of population), 7.246160, 28.7 times more than Deltona, Florida, the city with the least 0.252768.
