The Houston Texans have reiterated that they have no plans to act star quarterback Deshaun Watson. However, that hasn’t stopped him from looking for potential trading targets.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Watson is intrigued by the possibility of being traded in the US Denver Broncos or San Francisco 49ers.

The Broncos and 49ers have several questions to answer at the quarterback in 2021. For Denver, the main question is whether or not Drew Lock can be a franchise quarterback. It seems the Broncos are ready to give him another season to find out, but if he doesn’t succeed in the next season he might be on his way out.

For the 49ers, their main question is whether or not they believe Jimmy Garoppolo can stay healthy and lead them back to the Super Bowl. Garoppolo has surfaced in various trading rumors this off-season, but head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch have stated that the former New England Patriot will be their starter in 2021.

Regardless of whether the Texans are looking for a deal for Watson, the Broncos and 49ers will likely at least review the situation.

The New York Jets and Miami Dolphins are considered front runners for Watson when Houston trades him.
