We learned something new about the Vancouverites: when a heat wave hits, people flock around the Lower Mainland in search of air conditioning in hotels.

Fortunately, it was the hottest weekend on record Canada’s history The Marriott hotels invited our team to try five of their hotels – each in beautiful locations in the city.

Trust us when we say whether you are a Vancouver fan looking for a way to shake up your next stay or traveling to town to explore, the hotels listed below offer a unique, relaxing experience, that we can now say with all our hearts will not disappoint.

From the Deluxe Executive Suite to the customer service, this stay package was an experience we will always remember.

We were greeted by staff the moment we walked into the building who went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. The suite with unparalleled views of False Creek not only had a private bedroom with a huge king size bed and a stunning dining area, but also a marble walk-in rain shower, not only two Bathroom and a deep soaking tub with floor-to-ceiling windows. Oh, and when the staff found out we had a sweet tooth they delivered a welcome platter (we felt like royalty) filled with butterfly chocolate, macarons, cakes and a coconut and caramel dessert with our faces on it. Given tIt was the first time we ate something with our picture printed on it, it was a magical moment.

Beyond the large hotel doors (just steps from Yaletown, Gastown and the sea wall) we were treated to two experiences that helped us get even more out of our stay. These excursions are specials arranged when you purchase the hotel’s Urban Explorer Staycation package for your stay – also receive $ 50 daily restaurant credit. We had a bike rental (for flexible two hours) and I was allowed to spend part of our sun-drenched stay on the water while kayaking in Granville.

And when we finished – and had a good appetite in the heat – we were greeted with filled French toast at the Honey Salt restaurant in the hotel lobby (you heard that right, and it was even better than it sounds).

With a downtown Vancouver location in the heart of Coal Harbor, a short walk from Stanley Park or the shopping district, what is there not to love?

The real pleasure of this stay was the moment we walked into the suite that was to be our home for the weekend – it was casually larger than our apartment. The room had a bathroom (for guests, NBD), dining room, living room, office / work space and its own entrance to the bedroom which was the main bathroom – quite a boujee set up for the duration of our stay .

To make our time in the suite even more pleasant, our fur baby Bean was allowed to come with us – the staff even gave up some treats and water to make him feel at home.

Although we were reluctant to leave our luxurious room, we went down to the hotel restaurant, Showcase Restaurant and Bar, where we were served the most droolable dinner. To make the experience even more special, the sous chef came before each course to guide us through the menu and highlight the most important components of the meal. We will definitely visit this restaurant again.

Jessica and Jennifer @ The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver

“I’ve talked to a lot of people, and it’s definitely one of the best pools in town,” a hotel guest said to me as we floated around in the water on Monday afternoon with a cold beer in hand.

This friendly guest was definitely not wrong. Of everything this hotel had to offer – the breathtaking harbor views, the stunning hotel lobby that made you feel like a celebrity (we can attest to that), the friendly staff always ready to help, the selection of wellness programs, etc. – the pool was by far our favorite part. Did we mention that there is also a second indoor pool? With a whirlpool?

Okay okay okay, let’s get to the heart of this stay. Yes the pool was great, but the wellness activities included on our itinerary really rounded out the trip.

Late on our second day we had a chance to take bikes and ride along the sea wall (literally right outside the doors of Bayshore). We cycled to the beach, snuggled into the grass and cheered for a pleasantly spent day.

And on our last day, before we left our pleasant escape from everyday life with packing behind us, we had the opportunity to test our balance while driving Liquid yoga (Jenn was so shortly before the collapse). Instead of the usual calm yoga experience, our teacher told us it was okay – and encouraged – to laugh at our imbalance while trying out these challenging new poses.

All in all it was a stay for the books, enhanced by our really powerful air conditioning and the friendly staff guiding us through their delicious, creative cocktails in the restaurant late into the evening H tasting lounge.

Because the spacious suites at Delta Hotels Vancouver Downtown Suites have separate sleeping and living areas, we had plenty of room for the family to stretch out and relax. When we arrived the kids were enjoying a Netflix movie with snacks in the bedroom while we enjoyed the sparkling wine and chocolates the hotel provided in the living room.

The location was perfect, lots to see and do Law on the doorstep of the Delta Hotels Vancouver Downtown Suites; This was the perfect stay for me and my family. And since we haven’t been anywhere since early 2020, a little adventure was urgently needed.

To ensure that both myself, my husband and our kids had a good stay, the hotel staff went out of their way – they even offered us the chance to try their Tourist In Your Hometown package, which included a scavenger hunt (aka the perfect Way to explore the city). While we were working through the clues, we were taken to Dimensions Art Gallery to enjoy some fun photos, through Gastown and to the Olympic Cauldron for a delicious ice cream. We ended our hunt with a picnic in the Lost Lagoon – it was a wonderful way to spend the weekend.

When we got home, the first thing our children asked when we could return.

Just a short drive from downtown Vancouver, with beautiful views and upscale suites, the Delta Hotel’s Burnaby Conference Center really was one of the better ways to enjoy a steak (there’s a steakhouse on-site so we’re pretty proud thereon).

When we arrived not only was check-in a seamless experience, the staff were so convenient in showing us to our top floor room. There was a huge kitchenette, a large living room with floor-to-ceiling windows, and a private bedroom with an en-suite bathroom – with a glass rain shower.

To start our stay, the team left out a sausage board – think rich meat, hearty cheese, garlic olives – and a nice bottle of red wine.

After we had settled in, we made our way to the Atlas Steak + Fish Restaurant and ordered the largest variety of seafood you have ever seen and it was so amazingly good – you’d better think we’ll go again.
