Seven players scored in double figures as Western Carolina crushed Toccoa Falls 117-50 in the last non-conference men’s basketball game of the season Dec. 20 at the Ramsey Center.

Tyzhaun Claude led the Catamounts (7-6) with 21 points. He was followed by Tyler Harris and Marlow Gilmore with 13 apiece, Tre Jackson and Marcus Kell both with 12, Bernard Pelote with 11 and Elijah Cupples with 10.

Kell with 11 rebounds and Claude with 10 both had double-doubles.

Anthony Williams scored 25 points for the Screaming Eagles, who play in the Division II National Christian College Athletic Association.

The game will be considered at an exhibition for Toccoa Falls, which remained winless (0-5).

WCU took the lead for good at 11-9 on Jackson’s three-pointer with 14:44 to play in the first half.

Pelote scored eight in a 16-2 run that opened a 33-15 advantage with 8:37 on the clock.

Harris hit a pair of three–pointers in a 13-2 spurt for a 48-21 lead on Colin Granger’s layup at the 2:19 mark.

The halftime margin was 51-24.

Claude had 10 in a 23-2 spurt as the lead reached 74-26 with 12:55 on the clock.

Cupples’ basket with 5:06 to play put Western over the century mark at 101-42.

The Cats scored the game’s final eight points, including four by Gilmore.

WCU shot 50 percent from the floor and held the Eagles to 24.3 percent.

The Cats dominated the boards 63-37. Khobe Comer and JaMariyus Pringle led Toccoa Falls with nine apiece.

The Eagles committed 13 turnovers, and Western had only five.

Completing the WCU scoring were Granger and DJ Campbell with eight each, Russell Jones with five, and Miles McClure and Jalen Higgins both with two.
