Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks Organization may have reached a dead end if the latest rumors are to be believed.
According to a detailed report released on Thursday, Wilson’s camp has gone to the Seahawks and named teams with whom he would accept a deal.

Michael-Shawn Dugar, Mike Sando and Jayson Jenks of The Athletic has taken a deep dive into Wilson’s fragile relationship with Seattle head coach Pete Carroll and their diverse philosophies on the offensive.
Part of that report contained a bombshell about Wilson’s precarious future with the team as a result of his frustration that the Seahawks had not played in the NFC Championship game since the 2014 season:
“[Wilson’s] The camp has raised potential trade targets with the Seahawks. According to sources, belong to these teams […] the dolphins, jets, saints and robbers. Some people in the league believe that a trade could happen, if not this off-season then sometime in the near future. ”
Wilson got off to a hot start during the 2020 campaign, leading the race for the MVP honors, largely because Seattle allowed him to air it more often than ever before in his career.
When the Seahawks defense peaked in the second half of the season, offensive coordinators Brian Schottenheimer and Carroll decided to revert to their race-heavy, conservative schemes. This caused the temporary attack to suffer, Wilson’s production fell off, and the offense ultimately became too predictable.
The result? Seattle was shut down by NFC West rivals Los Angeles Rams with a 30:20 loss on wildcard weekend. Schottenheimer was firedBut Carroll still believes the Seahawks running game – not Wilson’s exceptional passer-by talent – and a strong defense will be the formula that will bring Seattle to its next Super Bowl.
After nine seasons without missing a start and scoring numerous hits behind an ever-draining offensive line, Wilson wants more leverage over the direction his team takes in the prime of his career. That may not happen at the Seahawks, and there will certainly be many teams willing to let Wilson go to make it work.
