It sits on the Atlantic Ocean and offers great views – and in case the winter wind blows, the venue’s signature fireplace is always ready to provide some warmth. Located next to the Sag Harbor Inn, it offers access to the same external highlights, of course, but this resort also has its own fine-dining restaurant and lounge with fireplaces inside and out. The outdoor option is a wood-burning hot spot on the patio.

WINTER OFFER The hotel is currently taking a break from the season and will start with a “Waterfront Wellness” package when it reopens on February 11th, with effect until March. Overlooking Great Peconic Bay, this brother of Greenport’s American Beech sits between downtown Riverhead and Jamesport – but since the North Fork is only about 40-30 miles long, all of the area’s vineyards and craft breweries are also close by home base – as well as bustling Greenport Village, just over 23 miles east. Guests can stay and rent sauna access ($ 40 for 30 minutes), enjoy sunsets by the outdoor fire pits, and even request some free s’mores for roasting.
