(January 13, 2022) Nantucket’s girls swim and dive team used his depth and talent to easily beat Nauset Thursday on the road to win 111-59. The boys team won most events but didn’t have the depth to stop the Warriors, losing 82-81.

Winners in the girls were the 200-yard medley relay team of Maddie Bartleman, Hannah Gerardi, Martina Savova and Myah Johnson; Emma Davis in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly; Bartleman in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke; Johnson in the 100-yard freestyle; Gerardi, Sam Wisentaner, Johnson and Davis in the 200-yard freestyle relay; Gerardi in the 100m breaststroke; and Bartleman, Emily Dussault, Macy Crowell and Davis in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

The boys’ winners were Justin Roethke, Kevin Johnson, Parker Valero and Jake Johnson in the 200-meter medley relay; Röthke in the 200-meter freestyle and 100-meter butterfly; Kevin Johnson in the 200-yard medley and 100-yard freestyle; Jake Johnson in the 100-yard backstroke; and Roethke, Valero, Wyatt Penrose and Jake Johnson in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

The Whalers are scheduled to compete in the Cape & Islands Diving Invitational in Sandwich on Friday and take on Wayland on the road on Monday.
