The Clemson Tigers are already working on the class of 2024 while they put the final touches on the class of 2023. Recruiting never ends is not just a saying, but a way of life for college coaches.
The Tigers coaching staff have extended an offer to 5-star corner Charles Lester of Riverview High School in Sarasota, Florida.
Lester is currently rated as the nation’s no. 3 corner and no. 22 overall prospect in the 2024 class.
There are many big-name schools in the mix for this one, so we’ll see if anything comes of it, but it’s worth mentioning nonetheless.
Speaking of the 2023 Class, it appears Peter Woods is still solidly committed to Clemson despite interest from Deion Sanders.
Now that the portal is full, there’s all kinds of speculation about where the players will end up, none more so than DJ Uiagalelei who seems to be getting a ton of attention for a guy the press and fans loved to trash.
There’s the obvious connection to the west coast and every team up and down the coast from Los Angeles to Corvallis, Oregon.
While I don’t pay too much attention once a player leaves Clemson, this will be a fascinating watch to see how things work out for DJ away from Clemson.
Things didn’t work out in Tigertown, but this is an all-world young man with talent and here’s hoping the best for Mr. Uiagalelei.
Clemson Tigers not included in latest Bracketology
It’s never too early to start speculation on the NCAA Basketball Tournament and that’s one reason the Tigers game with Towson tonight is important, despite being a non-conference game in December.
The Tigers were not included in the field of 68 or the last four out, but a team they beat was: Penn State was the first team out.
The last I looked the Tigers were number 54 in the KenPom.com rankings, but they’ve got work to do if they want to make the tournament.
It’s still early, but that same website forecasts a 20-11 record and 12-8 record in the ACC.
The Tigers can afford to lose to a Colonial Athletic Association team at home if they hope to make a bid for a bid.
