The long weekend (and the necessary salute to everyone who gave it their all for the nation) means Houstonians are in search of local getaways.

While many hop spots are fully booked for Memorial Day weekend (Houstonian Hotel staff confirm that the elegant spot is full), many hotels still have availability and even reasonable prices.

The best thing to do is to confirm online or give us a call. So here is a recap for this Houston hiker.

Four Seasons
1300 Lamar St.
Hottest downtown hotel, which recently unveiled its site-wide room renovation and new pan-Latin American steakhouse from acclaimed chef Richard Sandoval, is toasting Memorial Day with special discounts. Look for deals on the posh poolside cabana rooms and the Residents Retreat package for a weekend getaway.

The packages include a 10 percent discount on the room rate, daily American breakfast for two, free in-room movie with popcorn and lemonades for two, one hour of free play in Topgolf with reservation and valet parking (always a plus).

Four Seasons starts the summer program with a barbecue evening on the pool deck on Saturday, May 29th, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a live DJ, an à la carte grill menu and new cocktails by the pool. Expect BBQ cookouts with a DJ every Saturday throughout the summer.

Houston Astros fans can receive an Astros Foundation package. The package is available all season (until November 20) and includes free valet parking, Astros Swag, two beer vouchers for St. Arnold’s Brewery and St. Arnold’s Swag.

Houston’s newest boutique hotel is offering special room packages for Memorial Day Weekend on Sunday May 30th and Monday May 31st. Rooms for both days are $ 100 and include two cocktails from the hotel’s lively Space Cowboy Bar and Lounge and early access to the hotel pool.

Starting Sunday May 30th, Space Cowboy is expanding its hours to open for lunch at noon. (Hours of operation are seven days a week, 12 p.m. to 2 a.m.)

Holiday Inn Express Houston – Galleria

The newest centrally located and stylish hotel in the Galleria has just opened. The 14-story property is a stones throw from the tree-lined Post Oak Boulevard in the Uptown District and is close to the River Oaks District, Highland Village and the world famous Galleria. Hotel ZaZa Houston Museum District
