Nationwide Geographic unveils 2023 river cruises and excursions: Journey Weekly

National Geographic Expeditions has announced its new Offer of river cruises 2023 and shore excursions.

Returning to Europe’s waterways are National Geographic River Cruises, operated by AmaWaterways.

Each departure is accompanied by a historian, author, or archaeologist known as a National Geographic Expert, who makes onboard presentations and accompanies passengers on daily excursions.

A National Geographic photographer also accompanies guests on excursions, providing professional tips on technique and artistry while capturing moments of the trip.

New this year as part of Signature Land Expeditions is Costa Rica: Wildlife and Conservation, a revamped voyage offering travelers a journey through the country’s rich biodiversity and conservation efforts.

The eight-night trip includes visits to wetlands and tropical forests; a family-run cocoa, coffee and sugar cane plantation; a field trip to a research facility at the Monteverde Institute; and the opportunity to see native wildlife both in their natural habitat and in protected areas.

Groups of 16 to 25 people receive educational opportunities with conservationists and researchers during their trip, which include stays at four different lodgings.

Additional Signature Land Expeditions are offered in Patagonia, Egypt, India and Borneo.
