Local business people are preparing to open hotels in Ghandruk, the entrance to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), from September 17th. The ABC Hotels will be open from September 20th.

Kisam Gurung, chairman of Ghandruk Tourism Management Committee, said Ghandruk hotels will welcome guests from September 17th. “The travel season has started and the COVID-19 infection has also decreased,” said Gurung.

He also said all hotels, including those in Ghandruk, Ghorepani, Tadhapani, Chomrong and ABC, will open by mid-September. “Every tourist destination is slowly opening up to the public. So when the hotels in the Annapurna area are closed, the guests who want to come here will be redirected elsewhere. “

If all the destinations are open, the message is bad if the hotels in the Annapurna region are not open, “he said open the hotels.”

According to him, all hotel employees have been asked to return to their work. Some internal guests have even started trekking and have questions about the hotels in the Annapurna region. The weather in the ABC area has also been clear for three days.

Bhim Pun, a businessman from Ghorepani, a tourist village in the Annapurna region, also said preparations are being made to open his Hungry Eye Hotel on September 17th. However, there are no workers, although he is preparing for the hotel to open. “We are calling our workers back to work as local tourists are arriving,” he said.

Chomrong Tourism Entrepreneurs Committee Secretary Dilip Gurung also said preparations have been made to revitalize the trekking area. He said hotels in ABC, Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC) and other areas that have been vacant for months will be opening soon. “Since the hotels have been closed for months, we cannot immediately offer our guests service. But we are preparing to open it soon, ”he said. There are 62 hotels from Chomrong to ABC.

He also said he was ready to continue his business even if he wasn’t vaccinated against COVID-19. “The tourist season has started and the weather has also improved. This will increase the number of internal guests, ”said Gurung. He said he was optimistic about the influx of internal tourists as corona cases have declined.
