HENDERSONVILLE, Tennessee – After Hurricane Ida, according to the latest data and analysis from STR.

Including all NOLA data benchmarking participants, STR examined the operational status of 208 hotels with 35,835 rooms. Of this group, 155 properties (75%) and 28,756 rooms (80%) are currently closed.

With most closings being due to temporary urban conditions rather than property damage, it is anticipated that there won’t be widespread permanent closings. Most hotels have short-term reopening dates as of now, but there will be postponements in the coming weeks and months as properties make decisions based on power restoration, supplier availability, staffing, and demand.

Of the estimated 155 properties that are currently closed, 41 do not indicate an expected opening date.
