Bollywood producers, who are on a four-day tour of the Kashmir Valley, interacted with tour operators and tour operators on Saturday to revive filming and promote film tourism here.

GN Itoo, tourism director in Kashmir, said that the rediscovery of Kashmir was the order of the day. He said, “The relationship between Kashmiri and Bollywood is not new. There are more than 60 successful Indian films that have represented Kashmir internationally. Tourism has also played an important role in promoting the state’s scenic beauty.”

“However, some programs recently organized by the department have not given up on the outcome. This conference, which was agreed with Bollywood delegates, will hopefully serve expectations in the near future.”

Kashmir is known as “a photographer’s paradise” and in the past maximum filmmakers preferred the state to shoot their films.

During the interaction, Abhijeet Patil, a well-known tour operator from Mumbai, emphasized the importance of reviving filming in the valley and also stressed the need to train the local talent. He said: “Here we have an association that trains your children in the cinema. This will help them develop their skills, create jobs in the state and also develop a sense of brotherhood.”

Many celebrities have visited Kashmir to make films for its scenic views. Due to the pandemic caused by Covid-19, all activities, including filming, tourism events and cultural events, have been stopped by the authorities.

In order to restore the same atmosphere and promote state tourism, the renowned film producer Aashish Singh, who has already made films like “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” in Kashmir, said that the valley offers filmmakers a perfect package for filming and has the potential to do so become the shooting destination for the world.

“I wish internal competition like Srinagar tourism, Gulmarg tourism and more were put into practice. For marketing, we should start by mapping the state’s infrastructure and it is not far from the day it becomes the filming location World will. ” Singh added.

Meena Ayer, CEO of Ajay Devgan Productions, also stated that Kashmir has undeveloped locations and offers much more natural beauty than even Switzerland.

It’s not just the scenic beauty for what the state is famous for, but also the exotic food it offers, said chef Sanjeev Kapoor, who runs his own online cooking show, “Khana Khazana”. He said: “We all know that Kashmir is heavenly, but a lesser known fact is that Kashmir is one of the top three places in the country for exotic food after Hyderabad and Goa. Kashmir can also be promoted for food tourism, and there is also a need for a national campaign to promote the state’s appetizing food.

The film and television producers’ Guild of India Ltd praised the pristine beauty of Gulmarg and expressed a great desire to film in various locations in Kashmir for their upcoming film projects.

Kashmir has traditionally been a popular place for Bollywood who have made numerous films such as “Raazi”, “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”, “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”, “Haider” and also old classics like (1961) Junglee (1964) Kashmir Ki Kali, (1965) Mere Sanam, (1965) Jab Jab Phool Khile and more at Dal Lake, Srinagars Mughal Gardens, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam.
