TORONTO – Ontario Prime Minister Doug Ford shuffles his cabinet and brings back a minister who resigned last year after violating pandemic travel policies.

Rod Phillips, who resigned as Treasury Secretary after his trip to St. Barts in December, is back in the Cabinet as the new Minister of Nursing.

He replaces Merrillee Fullerton, who is leaving the care fund to become Minister for Children, Community and Social Services.

David Piccini becomes Environment Minister replacing Jeff Yurek, Kinga Surma replaces Laurie Scott as Infrastructure Minister.

Prabmeet Singh Sarkaria is the new President of the Treasury, which has been split off from the Financial Record, while Lisa Thompson replaces Ernie Hardeman in agriculture, food and rural affairs.

Health Secretary Christine Elliott, Secretary of Education Steven Lecce, Attorney General Sylvia Jones, Attorney General Doug Downey and Treasury Secretary Peter Bethlenfalvy remain in their prominent positions.

Meanwhile, John Yakabuski is out as Minister for Natural Resources as this file goes to Greg Rickford who is taking on a merged file as Minister for Northern Development, Mining, Natural Resources and Forestry, and Indigenous Affairs.

Todd Smith becomes Secretary of Energy.

Jill Dunlop becomes Secretary of State for Colleges and Universities, while Ross Romano moves to Government and Consumer Services.
