Clemson linebacker Kane Patterson against NC State earlier this season.

Two of Clemson Football’s transfers during the season will have some sort of homecoming, both announced on Friday.

Junior linebacker Kane Patterson travels to Vanderbilt to play alongside his younger brother Langston, also a linebacker. You’re from Brentwood, Tennessee, just 10 miles from the Nashville campus.

Meanwhile, sophomore offensive lineman Paul Tchio will be playing at Georgia Tech, about 30 miles from his home in Milton, Georgia.

Patterson has played in all 12 games this season, but mostly on special teams with just 43 snaps on defense and only seven since September 25 against North Carolina State. Tchio was a starter at the game but has only played one snap in the last seven games.

Clemson (9-3) prepares to face Iowa State (7-5) at the Cheez-It Bowl on December 29 (5:45 p.m. ESPN) in Orlando, Florida.

Patterson thanked Clemson and trainer Dabo Swinney in a social media post.

“It has always been a dream of mine to play next level soccer with my brother Langston Patterson,” said Kane. “I can’t wait to get to work.”

Tchio was a four-star candidate when he signed with Clemson. He should meet an immediate need for Georgia Tech, which is losing three starters on the offensive.

Five of the nine players who left Clemson during the season have already found their next destination. Running back Lyn-J Dixon heads to West Virginia while running back Michel Dukes and defensive back Ray Thornton travel to South Florida to play for former Clemson assistant Jeff Scott.

Others on the transfer portal are wide receiver Frank Ladson Jr., quarterback Taisun Phommachanh, defensive back Joseph Charleston and wide receiver Ajou Ajou. These three went against South Carolina after the regular season finale.
