MOSCOW, March 24th. / TASS /. Cuba has proposed Russia to increase the number of direct and open flights to other cities, such as Holguin, said Cuban Tourism Minister Juan Carlos Garcia Granda in an interview with TASS.

According to the minister, the decision to operate more flights is a sovereign decision by the Russian government.

“We came here to show how safe it is to visit our country, to explain the essentials of sanitary and epidemic measures and to ensure our readiness to offer Russian tourists a safe vacation,” said the minister. “We suggested opening flights to other cities, such as Holguin.”

The Cuban tourism minister stressed that those who traveled to Cuba from Russia “are healthy to fly [there] and stayed healthy on the return. “

“If agreements are made here, the Russian tour operators and we will definitely welcome them,” he added.
