The winter high school season is midway through the season for Fall River area teams.

Boys basketball: Durfee vs Snowden International

SCORE: Durfee 81, Snowden 60

HIGHLIGHTS: The Hilltoppers took care of business against non-league opponent Snowden International at home. Eric Lucas led Durfee with a game-high 25 points. Avonte Lamore added 20 points and Jeyden Espinal finished with 16 points. Devontae Stewart contributed 11 points in the win. Alexis Montilla had a strong rebounding game and anchored the defense. “Tonight we were able to build off of what we did Thursday night especially on the defensive side of the ball,” Hilltoppers head coach Joe DaCruz said. We continue to use our speed and athleticism to our advantage. We really buckled in in the fourth quarter, scoring 30 points and set forth a balanced attack on offense. We will continue to build off this win and promote consistency and mental toughness. Proud of the effort tonight.”NEXT UP: Durfee travels to Attleboro on Wednesday.

Boys basketball: Bishop Connolly vs Joseph Case

SCORE: Bishop Connolly 72, Joseph Case 47

HIGHLIGHTS: The Cougars defeated non-league opponent Case at home. Alex Krynicki had a team-high 22 points for Connolly. Jah Stephenson chipped in with 15 points and Brandon Defaria added 13 points. Avery Dinham contributed 10 points in the win. Landon Cayton scored a game-high 23 points for Case.

NEXT UP: The Cougars travel to Bishop Stang on Monday while the Cardinals host Somerset Berkley on Tuesday.

Girls basketball: Diman vs. Greater New Bedford

SCORE: Diman 57, Greater New Bedford 45

RECORD: Diman, 10-2 (5-0 at Mayflower Athletic Conference Large)

HIGHLIGHTS: The Bengals punched their ticket to the postseason after beating non-league opponent Greater New Bedford at home. Avery Rounds led the way for Diman with 17 points. Lizzy Kinnane added 14 points while Jada Martino and Evey Fernandes each finished with eight points. Cindy Bui contributed seven points in the win

Boys Ice hockey: Somerset Berkley at Greater New Bedford

SCORE: Somerset Berkley 8, Greater New Bedford 1

LOCATION: Hetland Arena

RECORD: Somerset Berkley, 12-0

HIGHLIGHTS: The undefeated Raiders cruised to an easy victory over league opponent Greater New Bedford. Noah Taylor and No Stafford each led SBR with two goals and an assist. Davis Sullivan, Jack Rothwell, Luke Gauvin and Carter Silvia each finished with a goal. Cam MaKenna added three assists while Mason Sullivan and Nolan Botelho each ended with an assist. Mason Huck had seven saves in net for his first varsity win.

Boys Ice hockey: Diman/Durfee/Westport vs Tri-County

SCORE: Diman/Durfee/Westport 7, TriCounty 3

RECORD: Diman/Durfee/Westport, 9-1 (7-0 in Mayflower Athletic Conference Large)

HIGHLIGHTS: The Diman/Durfee/Westport co-op hockey team continued their winning ways, beating Tri-County at home. Jacob Almeida led the way for the Bengals with three goals and three assists. Other players who hit the score sheet were Landen Freitas (goal, two assists), Bryce Medeiros (goal, four assists), Evan Camara (goal), Jacoby Brouillard (goal), Owen Vernon (assist) and Jesse Costa two assists). Cam Mattos started the game in net and shut out Tri-County for two periods. Aidan Monaghan played mop up duties in the third, stopping 15 of the 18 shots he faced.

Girls Ice hockey: Bishop Stang vs. Arlington Catholic

SCORE: Bishop Stang 5, Arlington Catholic 0

RECORD: Bishop Stang, 9-2-1 (3-2-1 in Catholic Central League)

HIGHLIGHTS: The Spartans blanked Arlington Catholic at home. Case’s Lexi Yost and Durfee’s Kacey Curran each led Stang with a pair of goals and an assist. Somerset Berkley’s Meghan Costa added her first high school goal. Mikayla Brightman finished with two assists and Kate Plante added an assist.
