LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – The Clark Country Fire Department investigated a power outage at the MGM Grand Hotel and in New York-New York on Saturday morning.
A statement from MGM Resorts International said: “Both were run on emergency power and New York-New York is fully restored. Crews that are currently working on restoring the MGM Grand. “
Clark County officials said power was restored at both resorts at 1 a.m.
Shortly after the fireworks show, 1301 S Las Vegas Blvd lost its power.
Clark County officials said a power box caught fire, causing blackouts at the MGM Grand and New York-New York, both of which run on backup power.
