After arriving from South Africa, families are forced to separate and quarantine in hotels up to 160 kilometers apart.
During the ten-day isolation period, a couple had to split up in separate hotels; the six-year-old son and his husband were housed in a double room. They were told they could not all stay in a double room and would have to pay £ 2,285 for both rooms and would not get a family discount of £ 350.
Last night Olivia Blake, the couple’s MP in Sheffield, said the situation was “ridiculous” and she was aware of other examples. The Labor MP has written to Health Minister Sajid Javid demanding that the government provide more accommodation for families.
