Samantha first shared her secret with a duet on a video asking people to share the most ingenious thing they have ever done.
Samantha explained that every time she books a table in a fancy restaurant or hotel room, she hires her “personal assistant” to reserve it for her.
She said, “I don’t have a personal assistant, just me with a different Gmail address that pretends to be a personal assistant.
“But I get much better service and upgrades this way, so you’re welcome!”
Users inundated Samantha with questions about how she actually worded the email so they could get the best upgrades too.
One user exclaimed, I need to know how to phrase it. ”To which Samantha responded by demonstrating her“ personal assistant ”email.
She said, “You asked what I wrote in my email as my ‘assistant’.”
Samantha then reads out the email template she shows on the screen, asks her what promotions are currently available, and asks for a welcome basket and bottle of wine to be waiting in the room upon arrival.
One user explained in the comments why Samantha’s hack worked: “The point is, you LOOK important and they’re more willing to offer upgrades when they’re available. Hotels want to impress ‘important’ people.”
Many users were impressed with the hack, one wrote, “This is a very real hack that I used to do for all of my clients.”
Another user who claims to be a hotel receptionist said the hack would work, but you might end up being billed for the extra items.
However, there were some who thought this hack would only make the hospitality industry harder to work with.
