Abercrombie & Kent and Lindblad Expeditions confirmed their Antarctic seasons from Argentina, citing the country’s borders reopening in November.

Expedition operators have only recently started Confirmation of their Antarctic season due to the border closure in Argentina, whose southernmost city Ushuaia is the most important gateway to the White Continent. Some companies have decided to relocate their operations to Chile to guarantee a fresh start.

Lindblad will begin its season on November 3rd and will station three of its Lindblad National Geographic vessels in the region, including the line’s two newest vessels, the National Geographic Resolution and National Geographic perseverance, as well as National Geographic Explorer.

Itineraries include 14-, 19-, 20-, and 24-day crossings, including a departure from Punta Arenas, Chile.

Lindblad said that as family travel to Antarctica increases, ships will be offering the National Geographic Global Explorers program in the Galápagos, Alaska and Baja. The program is led by a National Geographic-trained education specialist and features educational activities and experiences designed to help children and teenagers get the most out of their experience.

Abercrombie & Kent charter Le Lyrial

A&K starts its 30th season with a visit to the White Continent with four expedition cruises from Ushuaia.
