“Louisiana is home to some of the greatest music in the world. Talented Louisiana artists are nominated for GRAMMYs each year. We are excited to celebrate these artists and share performances by some of our nominees so that you can feed your soul with our unique music right in your home, ”said Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser. “This was also an excellent opportunity for us to support these artists and venues that struggled during the pandemic.”

The show will include appearances by Bobby Rush, the New Orleans Nightcrawlers, Sweet Cecilia and Kenny Wayne Shepherd with Buddy Flett. Collectively, these artists represent more than a dozen GRAMMY nominations. Each performance will also include a Louisiana attraction from locations across the state. Bobby Rush will perform at the Delta Music Museum in Ferriday, the New Orleans Nightcrawlers will perform at the Music Box Village in New Orleans, Sweet Cecilia will perform at the Blue Moon Saloon in Lafayette, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Buddy Flett will take the stage at Shreveport Municipal Auditorium. Lt. Governor Nungesser will also speak of the New Orleans Jazz Museum.

In addition to seeing these talented artists perform, viewers will learn a bit of history about Louisiana’s culture and music, and the role that some of these venues have played in both countries.

“For us at the GRAMMY Museum, it’s important to highlight all aspects of music history and the cultural implications of these genres. We’re excited to be working with the great state of Louisiana during GRAMMY Week to highlight GRAMMY nominated Louisiana musicians who have inspired the next generation of artists, ”said Michael Sticka, President of the GRAMMY Museum.

Music fans can follow the performance on one of the following platforms and have the opportunity to win prizes from Louisiana Travel on Facebook before and during the show.
