New Delhi: As India is currently in the unlocking phase and the Ministry of Tourism and its field offices are organizing and supporting various tourism promotion events as part of the Dekho ApnaDesh campaign, various tourism assets and products of the country will be showcased to raise awareness among citizens.

The Ministry of Tourism’s Indi Tourism Bureau in Kochi recently organized a workshop to raise awareness among homestay owners / B&B units about the Ministry of Tourism’s program for homestays / B&B in collaboration with the Kerala Hone Stays and Tourism Society (HATS) Units. The workshop also provided information on the NIDHI & SAATHI certification, which was introduced specifically for the hotel industry. The workshop was attended by 54 host family / B&B unit owners from Kochi and the neighboring districts. In another program, Indiatourism Kochi, in partnership with the District Tourism Promotion Council Ernakulam, Kerala, supported the 13th edition of the week-long festival of cultural extravaganza in Ulsavam with the intention of reviving the intangible cultural heritage of Kerala. The festival shows 28 art forms in Kerala involving around 200 artists. The festival was opened by the Mayor of Cochin Corporation with a keynote address by Shri Hibi Eden, Member of Parliament.

The office of the Indian Ministry of Tourism in Bengaluru, as part of the “DEKHO APNA DESH” initiative, organized a roadshow for domestic tourism in Bengaluru on February 22nd, 2021 in order to demonstrate the tourism potential of Buddhist circles and pilgrimage destinations in Uttar Pradesh. 16 tour operators of the Buddhist Inbound Tourism Brotherhood (BITF) Uttar Pradesh attended the roadshow and B2B meetings with Karnataka travel agents / tour operators.

The Indian Tourism Office of the Ministry of Tourism in Mumbai participated in the India International Travel Mart (IITM) in Pune from February 23-24, 2021, where various tourism products of India were presented and information was shared with visitors. This is the second exhibition in the western region that Indian Tourism Mumbai will participate in after unlocking destinations in physical mode.

The Indian Tourism Ministry of the Ministry of Tourism in Hyderabad and Varanasi jointly organized the roadshow “Visit Uttar Pradesh” in Hyderabad under Dekho Apna Desh on February 24, 2021. 17 representatives of the travel industry of the Buddhist Inbound Tourism Fraternity (BITF) took part in the raodshow with Travel Trade from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The Indian Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Tourism in Delhi organized a morale-boosting excursion for the regional guides to Sundar Kindergarten, which was attended by 70 RLGs. The regional director informed them about the Ministry of Defense initiative to promote domestic tourism and the participation of RLGs in the exchange of experiences. A quiz competition about the life of Netaji SubhasChandra Bose was also organized for them.

The workshop on river tourism was organized on February 22nd, 2021 by Indiatourism of the Ministry of Tourism in Guwahati. The workshop was attended by 35 stakeholders and highlighted the importance of river cruises / cruise tourism in the North East region and India.
