The Standing Parliamentary Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture, led by BJP Rajya Sabha member TG Venkatesh, has asked India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) to conduct detailed human resource studies in all of its units in order to streamline the use of human resources.

So far 9 hotels sold

  • So far, nine ITDC hotels have been handed over to the respective state governments in which they were located

According to the Ministry of Tourism, which controls the ITDC, since the start of the sale of ITDC hotels in 2015, nine hotels operated by the company have been handed over to the respective state governments in which they were located.

The process of streamlining the workforce was carried out in 2018 for the executives and non-executives of ITDC’s corporate headquarters. For the uninvested units of the Hotel Catering Establishment (HCE), the sanctioned strength was abolished and the workers who had not opted for VRS were booked in the remaining properties of ITDC and their contributions were treated as surplus (surplus).
