Only six months to the commissioning of MSC Cruises’ new ship MSC Seashore and nine months to her arrival in the USA, the line has just announced new details about the upcoming ship.

Building on the groundbreaking design of the Seaside ship class, the MSC Seashore will be the first Seaside EVO ship to be equipped with a multitude of new functions and rooms for guests.

“With every new ship we build, MSC Cruises continues to innovate and push the boundaries of design. MSC Seashore represents a further development of the Seaside class as an expanded and further enriched ship, ”said MSC Cruises Executive Chairman Pierfrancesco Vago. “65 percent of the public areas have been redesigned to create something truly unique for our guests.”

He continued: “The MSC Seashore will be the first cruise ship in the world to feature a new air hygiene system developed by Fincantieri. ‘Safe Air’ uses UV-C lamp technology that eliminates 99 percent of viruses and bacteria to guarantee guests and crew members clean and safe air. MSC Seashore will also be equipped with the latest generation of environmental technology that improves energy efficiency and the latest systems to reduce air emissions, as well as an advanced wastewater treatment system with cleaning standards higher than most onshore wastewater treatment plants. “

MSC Seashore highlights

Some key highlights of MSC’s newest flagship are:

  • 139,930 square feet of outdoor space with a wide variety of outdoor bars and restaurants, pools, and deck areas for relaxation
  • Six swimming pools with enlarged pool areas, including a new infinity pool and two new infinity whirlpools
  • An approximately 1,772 foot boardwalk near the water, great for al fresco dining or a stroll to get some fresh air
  • The largest and most luxurious MSC Yacht Club with an area of around 32,292 square meters on four decks
  • 11 different types of cabins and suites with balconies, including aft suites, 50 terrace suites with extended balconies, and 32 suites with private outdoor hot tubs

“This new ship is the first of its kind – an upgraded and expanded version of the hugely popular MSC Seaside – and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce this new cruise experience to our US guests,” said Rubén Rodriguez, President of MSC Cruises USA. “With spacious outdoor areas, new and redesigned venues and our largest MSC Yacht Club to date, MSC Seashore is already generating considerable demand.”

New design features

At nearly 1,112 feet in length, the MSC Seashore will be the longest ship in the MSC fleet and the largest ship Fincantieri has ever built in Italy. The outstanding design features include the Bridge of Sighs with glass floor on deck 16 (72 feet above the infinity pool on deck 8) as well as panoramic rear elevators and catwalks with glass floors on both sides of the ship on the waterfront promenade.

Pools

The rear pool has been redesigned to create an infinity pool that now extends to the end of the ship and features a glass wall that offers uninterrupted views of the ocean. It will be one of the largest infinity pools at sea, offering various depths as well as sun beds sunken in the water.

The ship will also introduce two infinity whirlpools, one on either side of the outside promenade on Deck 8. They will have 20 sea view seats for guests to relax and enjoy the beautiful ocean views.

The ship’s main pool, the Long Island Pool, is located on deck 18. It offers two different depths so that guests can swim or just stand in the water and hang out. The area will also include a 360 degree fountain island in the center as well as a new lounge area in the pool.

The Long Island Pool is now linked to the Pirate Cove-themed Aquapark to create an expansive expanse of water. The kids’ clubs are also on deck 18, which makes it a focal point for families.

Although the ship is designed for warmer weather, the Jungle Pool has a larger Magrodome that can be closed to create an indoor pool area in bad weather. The area has been enlarged and now includes an additional deck above and around the room which provides new areas for relaxation.

It’s just a short walk to the newly located buffet on Deck 16, great for families to grab a quick lunch without missing out on time by the pool.

Eating and drinking outdoors

MSC Seashore will introduce a new location for the Chef’s Court on Deck 8, which will house five specialty restaurants. The repositioning gives the restaurants an improved ocean view, and the Butcher’s Cut Steakhouse offers outdoor seating for the first time.

The ship’s extensive buffet now includes a new rear outdoor dining area as well as a bar – the Sky Bar – where passengers can enjoy their meals outdoors or relax and unwind on the ship in the evening.

Also new at MSC Seashore, Aurea guests can enjoy the exclusive Top 19 solarium with its chic lounge area and the outdoor bar.

The largest MSC Yacht Club to date

The MSC Yacht Club on MSC Seashore spans four of the ship’s coveted foredecks and will be the largest and most luxurious in the MSC Cruises fleet with an area of over 32,000 square meters.

Travelers looking for an all-inclusive cruise experience with private amenities and 24-hour butler service, while enjoying the relaxation and entertainment the rest of the ship offers, can sail in this exclusive “ship-in-ship” area.

On the coast, the entrance concierge area of the MSC Yacht Club is even more impressive and glamorous: It has a high, backlit onyx wall with three decks and the typical Swarovski stairs from MSC.

Passengers can relax in the elegant Top Sail Lounge and dine in the private gourmet restaurant of the Yacht Club with stunning sea views and an outdoor area connected to the lounge.

An extended pool area and a sun terrace offer 21,528 square meters of space with a larger private pool and a panoramic whirlpool with eight seats and individual jets.

The accommodations in the Deluxe MSC Yacht Club have also been expanded and now include 131 suites in five categories.
