In light of the uncertainties surrounding the Omicron variant, new travel restrictions and the closure of US embassies and consular posts in certain countries, the University’s International Services Office (ISO) strongly advises against leaving the US for international students immediately. This proposal is based on the expectation that the US will close its borders to more non-US citizens in the coming weeks, which comes with great uncertainty as to whether students will be able to re-enter the US after the winter break.
If staying in Rochester, students can sign up for the winter campus stay, available December 18 through January 7. Students can also stay with friends or family in the area or elsewhere in the United States.
