Travis Hunter, the top-ranked recruit in the Class of 2022 class, entered the NCAA transfer portal Sunday after one season at Jackson State with Deion Sanders. Hunter confirmed his decision Sunday night. The Georgia native has caused a wave of reaction following Sanders’ move to Colorado and the possibility that the two-way player could sign with a Power Five program.

“What’s next for me? First I want to thank Jackson, Mississippi, for going out and showing your boy support and always sticking with me, no matter what happened or what I did, and everybody just respect my decision — yes, I have entered the transfer portal,” Hunter said during a video on YouTube. “And I don’t know what I’m going to do next. I know I’m just trying to look for a new home. And I’m going to take my time in this decision and just weigh my options, not rush or jump into nothing.”

Hunter showed out in his final game at Jackson State, catching the game-tying touchdown pass on fourth down as time expired in regulation from Shedeur Sanders to force overtime in the Celebration Bowl.
