Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) Tourism Director Donovan White says His Excellency Ahmed Al Khateeb’s tour of the Bob Marley Museum on Wednesday, June 23, bodes well for Jamaica.
“To have the Hon. Minister here on this tour was exhilarating for me personally, but even more so for the purpose,” said Mr. White, noting that the Minister and his delegation “will go back and think they will cherish this for a long time to come . ”
“I thought he liked it a lot. This is an iconic attraction. Bob Marley is a global icon, so all of our international visitors who come to Jamaica want to experience some of the man’s understanding – what made him do it, and some of his phenomenal accomplishments and those of his family, “added Mr. White.
The Saudi tourism minister is on the island this week to attend the 66th session of the United Nations World Tourism Organization’s (UNWTO) Regional Commission for North and South America and the ministerial dialogue on “reactivating the tourism sector for inclusive growth,” which begins Thursday.
His Excellency Ahmed Al Khateeb also visited the Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Center at the University of the West Indies, Mona, where he and his delegation attended a bilateral meeting with Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, on tourism cooperation.
