The Corbin Tourism Commission has rented advertising space off Interstate 75 in Laurel County. The billboard is near the weigh station when driving south, said Maggy Monhollen, director of Corbin Tourism. In addition to the billboard, the commission has approved the interactive kiosk in the newly renovated Sander’s Café.

The Corbin Tourism Commission approved the kiosk as part of the $ 1.8 million tourism budget for fiscal year 2021-2022.

“As soon as you step in the door, it will be in the front vestibule on the left,” said Tourism Director Maggy Monhollen about the location of the kiosk in the restaurant.

Monhollen said the kiosk will have information about hotels, attractions, and other interesting things in the area.

“Everything there is to see and do in Corbin,” said Monhollen, noting that there will also be a QR code that can go to the Corbin Tourism website and take all of this information for visitors to their cell phones.

“There will also be a guest book so we can keep track of where people are from,” said Monhollen.

Monhollen said Corbin Tourism recently rented billboards on Interstate 75 south in Laurel County.

The billboard near the weighing station bears the slogan “Experience Downtown Corbin”.

It instructs interested visitors to take exit 25.

“A large part of our traffic is from people who drive south,” explained Monhollen, why this location was chosen for the billboard.
