Fast travel is one of the most useful features in New World. Do you have to find flower petals or do you want to fish in a specific place? Just warp closer instead of walking. However, it’s a little different from other MMORPGs in that you can’t just open your map, select a target, and warp on it. And there are no brackets either.
The game has two ways of moving around Aeternum: with Azoth and calling back to an inn.
The main fast travel method that Azoth requires allows you to go to any previously visited settlement or ghost shrine – but only if you are already in a settlement area or at a shrine. The cost will vary based on your faction tier, how much you carry with you and how far away it is. Calling yourself back to an inn will return you to a settlement for free, but it is limited to once per hour and you must have already checked into that particular inn.
To travel fast, open your map and zoom out until the gold settlement symbols appear. Then click on the destination you want and the fast travel option will appear on the right so you can choose to spend Azoth or Recall.
An important note: you can carry a maximum of 1,000 Azoth with you. When you hit the cap, whatever you accumulate will be lost, so make sure you spend it regularly on fast travel.
You won’t be able to get your hands on Azoth until you complete this Commitment to the cause Quest, which tasks you have with taking over some missions for your chosen ones fraction. You will be given the quest at the beginning of your adventure and will only take you an hour or two to complete. It will reward you with the currency as soon as you are done.

After that, Azoth will appear quite often as a quest reward. Fast travel is something you will likely do more than you realize, so completing as many quests and side quests as possible is a good idea.
Level 20 enemies will also drop Azoth randomly, which means you can easily farm the currency once you’ve leveled up to take them on. And from level 20 you can farm Azoth at Corrupted Breaches. To help you level up quickly, be sure to check out ours Leveling guide!

Azoth extraction perk
Azoth Extraction is a random perk that gives you over 30% chance of getting 1 Azoth when using a gathering tool with the perk. To get a tool with Azoth extraction, you will need to craft one in a level 2 workshop in a settlement.
Before you can start crafting, you will need materials. Iron tools are a good place to start and will last a while, but you can also make flint, steel, star metal, and orichalcum tools if you like – depending on your mining level, of course.
Ore is mined from veins that are then melted into an ingot. You may also need leather and some type of wood, depending on the tool you are making. Collect enough to make several.

From here there are two ways that you can increase your chances of getting the benefit. You can spend 15 Azoth to have a higher chance of getting a tool with it, but it’s not a guarantee that it will be an Azoth extraction so it’s up to you whether you want to take the risk. And when you have it, the Drop of Azoth Oil specialty resource guarantees the perk. You get it by harvesting blightroot.
When you have everything you need, craft your desired tool until you see Azoth Extraction in the item information.
Calling back to an inn is your free way to travel quickly, but it’s very limited. Each settlement has an inn that can be checked in to, and this makes that particular inn your callback point. You can only check in individually.
The downside is that it can only be used once an hour, but you can return to your inn from anywhere on the map, which you can’t do if you’re traveling fast with Azoth.
To call back to an inn, click on a settlement on the map and then you will see the option on the right. This is also where you can check how much time has passed since your last call back.
