Now that we see a glimmer of light at the end of the pandemic tunnel, the Texans are feeling a little wanderlust again. The good news for Lone Star State travelers is that two of the top US destinations to visit in 2021 are right in the heart of Texas. according to Travel & Leisure.

“Fort Worth is a huge draw for the Stockyards experience. It’s a good getaway for couples,” Shayla Northcutt, founder of Northcutt Travel, told Chron.
Fort Worth and the hill country made Travel & Leisure one of the top US travel destinations to visit in 2021.

Just a stone’s throw from Austin, the Texas Hill Country took 45th place on the list. The gentle rivers, the lush green landscape and the rustic charm draw visitors to this top travel destination every year. If you are interested in wine tasting, you have a few locations to choose from including Fall Creek Vineyards and the Duchman Family Winery.
If you’re just looking for a new country retreat, head to the towns of Fredericksburg or Wimberley.
“Fredericksburg is always a hot spot. They have a big hotel, so you may need to get an Airbnb or a cabin,” said Northcutt.
There are several other Texas destinations that are particularly appealing to Houston customers.
“People are very attracted to Austin because they have the waterway and Lake Travis,” said Northcutt. “There’s Horseshoe Bay, Texas, too. It’s a quaint place that’s kind of hidden. Another great place is Grapevine, Texas and Great Wolf Lodge, which is great for families.”
