Tehran – A total of eight tourism projects valued at three trillion rials (about $ 71.4 million at an official exchange rate of 42,000 rials per dollar) are due to start operating in southwest Bushehr province.

President Hassan Rouhani and the Minister for Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Crafts, Ali-Asghar Mounesan, will open the projects via video conference by the end of this week, the province’s tourism chief has announced.

The projects will help create 275 jobs directly for local residents. In addition, they will add 400 rooms and 1,088 beds to the province’s hospitality sector, Mohammad-Hossein Arastuzadeh said on Sunday.

In April last year, the official announced that the province’s tourism sector was ready to go after the coronavirus crisis ended. He also stressed that the province needs innovative plans and programs to attract more tourists and travelers to its tourist attractions and historical sites.

With over 6,000 years of history and significant monuments from the times of the Elamites, Achaemenids, Parthians and Sassanids, the Bushehr Province is one of the most important historical centers of Iran.

In addition to its cultural heritage, beautiful beaches and lush palm groves make it an attractive destination for world travelers.

The historical and architectural monuments of Bushehr include Islamic buildings such as mosques and prayer centers, villas, old towers, castles and gardens.

When it comes to cultural attractions, Bushehr has many historical mounds including Tall-e Khandaq with Sassanid architectural style, Tall-e Marv near an Achaemenid palace, and the Malek al-Tojar mansion from the Qajar period. Qajar period Kazeruni mansion, which was added to the World Heritage List, is another attraction that world travelers love to see among various ancient sites.
