Applications have been submitted for three programs aimed at helping Nova Scotia tourism businesses develop and commercialize

Three Tourism Nova Scotia programs are now open to help develop and market businesses in the province.

On April 14, Nova Scotia announced that the three programs will provide participants with more than $ 2 million to support their development and marketing efforts for 2021 and 2022.

“We are proud to re-offer these programs to support the Nova Scotia tourism industry,” said Michele Saran, CEO of Tourism Nova Scotia, in a COVID-19 press release. These programs have proven themselves – they generate sales, awareness and digital acceptance for our participants and the industry as a whole. “

The three programs include the Digital Content Marketing Program, the RADIATE Tourism Program, and the Tourism Digital Assistance Program. Each program has been offered in the past including the last year.

Companies that qualify for the programs include companies that focus on tourism and target travelers such as restaurants, outdoor adventure providers, attractions, and businesses that focus on accommodation and events.

While each program is focused on development and marketing, each one targets specific needs that a business may need.

The digital content marketing program supports tourism companies and organizations in creating online marketing campaigns using photos and videos.

The RADIATE Tourism Program helps companies develop tourism packages and supports digital marketing worth up to $ 5,000.

“Based on our research, we’ve looked at what will appeal to our Nova Scotia and maritime markets, and we’re working with the companies to develop the travel packages that will appeal,” said Darlene MacDonald, Director of Sector Development, Tourism Nova Scotia said. “What we saw delivering these programs last year was certainly a great opportunity for companies to reposition and develop packages that also allowed us to rediscover Nova Scotia.”

The third program, known as the Tourism Digital Assistance Program, is offered in partnership with Digital Nova Scotia.

It offers subscribers up to $ 5,000 worth of digital consultancy services on aspects such as website development, digital marketing, and e-commerce tools.

“It’s a great win-win program as we support both the tourism companies and the many digital service providers across the province to benefit these two sectors,” MacDonald told NEWS 95.7’s Rick Howe Show.

“We are very fortunate that Nova Scotia has both Digital Nova Scotia as an organization and the diversity and breadth of digital providers from one end of the province to the other.”

Both the Digital Content Marketing program and the RADIATE Tourism program have application deadlines until April 28th.

The deadline for the digital tourism support program is May 5th.

“For the most part, we work with companies and provide the services that enable them to do business,” she said. “So we don’t cut checks.”
