Vaccination application for tourism workers

MUTSO President Mustafa Ercan stated that the economy of Muğla is one of the cities affected by the pandemic and called for vaccination priority for tourism workers.

Mustafa Ercan, President of the Muğla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MUTSO), said: “We had a year that could not be considered non-existent due to the pandemic in tourism.” While preparing for the new season, tourism workers demanded the priority Vaccination.

Mugla is one of the first cities known for our incoming tourism in Turkey. Muğla, which hosts more than 3 million tourists each year, was one of the provinces that was economically affected during the pandemic process. Mustafa Ercan, President of the Muğla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MUTSO), urged tourism workers to get COVID-19 vaccine priority before the new season.

The Business Journalists Association (EGD), organized by the Turkey Economy Speaks online series of events hosted by Mutso Chairman Mustafa Ercan, summed up the status of the tourism sector: “We have left a year behind us, the one in determination Muğla, which hosts over 3 million tourists every year, has been hit hard in its most important sector due to the pandemic. As we prepare for a new season, we are calling for a priority vaccination for our tourism workers. “

Ercan answered the questions at the meeting moderated by EGD President Celal Toprak and EGD Board Member Mehmet Uluğtürkan and drew attention to the potential of Muğla in the fields of agriculture, mining and fishing as well as tourism. Mustafa Ercan, TSO President of Muğla, said that one of the most important sectors of the Muğla economy after tourism is the marble, stone and mining sectors: “We have serious problems with forest management. By extracting our underground mines, we want to contribute to our country’s exports, unemployment employment and our exports, which as Muğla reach about $ 600 million. Our vacation applications, which despite the application have not been completed for 4 years, will not be answered. Both lose our city and Turkey. “The area we need for mining in our city, 67 percent of which is forest, does not reach XNUMX percent.”

‘MUĞLA WHITE’ IS AN IMPORTANT VALUE

Ercan stressed that the export of Anatolian marble as wood should be banned, especially the “Muğla White Marble”, which he received his geographical indication for last year, for World with Color and Pattern, from the streets of ancient cities to sculptures. This value should be processed and an added value created and prosperity brought into our country. Since we allocated $ 1.7 billion for Turkish marble, Muğla marble exports, which make up 12 percent of it, are exported around the world. The related production barriers should be removed. “”

We cannot benefit from any incentive

Hurşit Öztürk, President of Muğla Commodity Exchange (MTB), pointed out that Muğla has achieved developed province status due to the tourism income of districts such as Bodrum, Marmaris, Datça, Dalaman and Fethiye, but this creates a handicap. Öztürk expressed that due to this situation, their cities could not benefit from incentives and stressed that Muğla has potential in many areas, from citrus fruit production to fresh vegetables to pine honey.
