After a year of protection in place, the idea of sleeping on white sheets, slipping into a soft terrycloth robe and enjoying room service in bed is finally not such a distant dream. In fact, hotels are coming back better than ever – especially in Los Angeles, where the sweeping views are as beautiful as they are year round. In addition, the City of Angels makes up for lost time with a multitude of new Haute Hotels, from which self-born Angelenos cannot stay away.

Whether you’re flying across the country for a much-needed vacation or booking a room for a weekend getaway, you’ll be delighted. From the legendary Fairmont Century Plaza, recently refurbished for $ 2.5 billion, to Pendry West Hollywood (Martin Brudnizki’s latest masterpiece), these chic accommodations make Tinseltown shine even brighter.

Pendry West Hollywood

The newest hotel in Pendry’s portfolio (and the first in Los Angeles), Martin Brudnizki-designed Pendry West Hollywood, which opens for business (and entertainment) April 2nd, features 149 stylish guest rooms carved by ocean waves and dark skies, and 40 residences with breathtaking views of the Hollywood Hills. “When I think of Los Angeles, I think of color. There aren’t many cities that offer such a vibrant and iconic palette, ”says Brudnizki. Just as important as the pallet are the shapes – not only in the furniture, but also on the walls. Brudnizki explains, “West Hollywood has a sense of style that is both about comfort and glamor. As a result, the interiors had to feel soft and tactile while also being a little decadent. In order to juxtapose the soft lines, we used some geometries for the wall treatments, upholstery and floors, which give the interiors a certain energy and dynamism. “With the goal of bringing Hollywood glamor into contemporary comfort, Brudnizki has outdone himself.

The hotel isn’t the only new outpost in the building: the latest restaurants from legendary chef Wolfgang Puck, Merois and Ospero, also take up space. The former’s menu has an undeniable Japanese, Southeast Asian, and French flair – with a touch of California flair – while the latter feels more like a casual European-style cafe. Whether you are snacking on a crispy black sea bass at Merois or biting into a homemade pizza at Ospero, you are ready for an after-dinner disco nap in your large room.
