Woodhaven was welcomed to a matchup in the Downriver League in Edsel Ford on Thursday.

The Warriors led six runs after four innings and then ended the mercy win in the fifth inning.

Woodhaven eventually won 12-0 against the Thunderbirds and improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the DRL. This was followed by an 11-0 grace win against reigning league champions Allen Park the day before.

Against Edsel (1-1, 1-1 DRL) the Warriors had 10 hits and used seven mistakes that the T-Birds had made in the field.

June Lusk was 4-1 with two RBIs for Woodhaven, while Grace Walker, Madysen Hooker and Grace Usher scored a hit, an RBI and a run each. Alana Ganop also had an RBI and Emma Kaiser had two hits and two runs.

Emily Wiltsie started in a circle, knocking out four batters in five goalless innings to take the win. She only allowed two hits and two walks along the way.

Next up was a tournament for Woodhaven on Saturday in Chelsea, while the T-Birds were to host Gibraltar Carlson on Monday.
