EWING, NJ – the no 16 TCNJ wrestling team sent its seniors off in style with a resounding 40-3 victory over Centenary (NJ) on Senior Night inside the Rec Center.

The Lions’ decorated senior class went 4-1 in leading the squad to another dominating result in the last home dual of the season. Jacob Falleni, Dominic Fano, Jake Giordano, Thomas Marettaand Daniel Surich have combined for 270 career victories.

Giordano edged out a 5-3 decision over regionally ranked Jacy Jones at 133 in his first action in more than two months.

Surich rolled to a 15-3 major over Justin Hopman at 184, Haddad defeated Keevon Berry by a 9-3 count at 197, and Marretta capped the night in style by pinning Matt Angelov at heavyweight.

Falleni wrestled hard in his first dual bout of the season, eventually dropping a 7-3 decision to Xavier Pena at 141.

That was the lone setback for the Lions. Mike Conklin tallied a 9-1 major over Cameron Bruffy at 149, and Matt Sacko cruised to a 19-2 tech fall opposite Adrian Pietri at 157.

Matt Surich pinned TJ Pawlicki with 3.1 seconds remaining in the first period of their 165-pound matchup, and Reid Colella fell just short of a major with an 11-4 defeat of Haakon Mathewson at 174.

Surich, Haddad, and Marretta took it from there, giving TCNJ its fifth win of the year by a margin of more than 35 points.
