Wyoming tourism given a $2.5 million grant

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (RELEASE) – US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced that the Department of Economic Development (EDA) is granting the Wyoming Office of Tourism, Cheyenne, Wyoming a $ 2.5 million grant to restore the CARES Act to create a nationwide tourism marketing campaign. “President Biden is determined to bring our tourism sector back on track and get Americans back to work,” said Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. “This EDA investment in the Wyoming Tourism Bureau will help reopen the Wyoming tourism industry and preserve vital tourism, hospitality, and manufacturing jobs in the state.”

“The Economic Development Administration plays an important role in supporting community-led economic development strategies to advance coronavirus recovery and response,” said Dennis Alvord, deputy assistant secretary of commerce for economic development. “The nationwide tourism marketing campaign will support That’s WY Recovery, a project designed to fuel the nation’s economic recovery and resilience, and increase spending on tourism and visitors in the state.”
