The Houston Rockets decision too Former all-star center DeMarcus cousins waived threw a lot of people for a loop. While the 30-year-old cousin is no longer the player who dominated for the Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans earlier in his career, he’s still a damn good tall man.
So much for this seasonCousins averages 9.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists. He’s also played a pretty solid defense for Houston after missing out on the entire 2019-20 campaign torn ACL.

DeMarcus Cousins signs with the Los Angeles Lakers

This is the most obvious choice. Cousins signed with the Lakers prior to last season, only to suffer a cracked ACL before the campaign began. The defending champions had to rely on veteran JaVale McGee instead.
Los Angeles just doesn’t have the same traditional center this season. Marc Gasol has shown himself to be the shell of his former self. Montrezl Harrell, who plays with five small balls, leaves a lot to be desired in defense. In this, cousins fit perfectly in Southern California.

DeMarcus Cousins joins the Brooklyn Nets
We already know the Nets are keen to make another big contribution to DeAndre Jordan after Jarrett Allen’s deal. For Brooklyn, this is about a lack of cap space and assets to make a trade for someone like Andre Drummond. It will force these networks into the buyout and free agent markets.
This is where cousins come in. He could spell Jordan sometimes. Heck, the two got to play on the court alongside Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving. Imagine the mismatches that would arise if these networks attempted to fight for the Eastern Conference title.

DeMarcus Cousins signs with the Golden State Warriors

At 16-15 in the season, Golden State is currently the eighth seed in the west. Overall, the team played good basketball despite some discrepancies. One problem was the focus here. Rookie # 2 James Wiseman and veteran Kevon Looney are both out. It forced Draymond Green to play the five. Not ideal.
The Warriors are expected to be active before the NBA close on March 25th. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the Warriors made a game for cousins. He played with the team in 2018-19 with an average of 16.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists. It obviously fits into Steve Kerr’s system. That just makes too much sense.

DeMarcus Cousins joins the Dallas Mavericks
Mark Cuban’s quest for a traditional tall man will likely involve Andre Drummond and DeMarcus cousins. DeAndre Jordan has been on the lookout for centers like this since he left. Given the fighting inside alongside Kristaps Porzingis, it makes perfect sense for Dallas to kick Cousins’ hoops.
He would be an offensive threat to Luka Doncic and Porzingis. He can extend the front court game of the Mavericks to the outside and help Doncic along. We know Cubans are already thinking of cousins in Big D. Will it happen in the end?

Danny Ainge’s general manager expected to be damn active before the NBA close on March 25th. With his team of 15 to 14, Ainge made this clear Upgrades need to be done. According to reports, this includes on the wing and in the middle.
Look for Boston to update both areas. The center, however, remains an urgent need. Robert Williams and Grant Williams didn’t take their games to the next level. Meanwhile, Daniel Theis leaves a lot to be desired. Cousins would be a tremendous asset to Boston that would allow them to make a deal on a wing.
