The 13-story concrete and glass tower was designed in collaboration with architects Stonehill Taylor. One of the primary goals of the Ace Hotel was to highlight local artists and to provide exhibition opportunities in most of the property’s 287 guest rooms, as well as in the common areas and on the building’s facade.

“We are proud to have filled its rooms with the talents of many employees from the fields of art, design and culture; it is a testimony and homage to the irrepressible creative energy of the district, ”said Brad Wilson, president of the Ace Hotel.

In addition to the typical hotel amenities, the public area of the Ace Hotel houses an art gallery. “The gallery at the Ace Hotel Brooklyn will feature works by artists that can be seen in the guest rooms, beginning with an exhibition of textile works by Cynthia Alberto and Weaving Hand in July and August 2021,” the hotel said in a statement.

The rooms have a colorful selection that contrasts with the neutral accent tones of the building. The selection and coordination of the works of art was curated by Niki Tsukamotowho is also a practicing artist.

The design of the rooms themselves was influenced by Le Cabanon, a Mediterranean retreat in southern France, the Le Corbusier used as an escape route.

“The guest rooms at the Ace Hotel Brooklyn were presented as creative hideaways: elegant and efficient, with a breathing space that opens up all possible possibilities,” said the hotel team.

The rooms have exposed concrete surfaces, simple plywood furniture, and spacious windows that let in plenty of natural light. The duvets were made by Traditional weaver, a family owned mill in Maine which has been in operation since 1850.
