Cancun, QR – A cabinet of Carlos Joaquin government has received a new appointment as head of tourism in Cancun. Jorge Luis Téllez Vignet has been appointed as the new director of tourism for the Benito Juárez City Council, replacing Frank López Reyes, who has taken up a position in the state government.

In a statement, Cancun Mayor Mara Lezama Espinosa appointed the new director with the task of “stepping up the work of this agency and promoting economic recovery in a gradual, orderly and responsible manner amid the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Jorge Téllez was Commercial Director of Maya Air, Director of Advertising for the Cancún Convention and Visitors Office, Advisor to the Mexican Council for Tourism Promotion (CPTM) and Deputy Director of National Advertising for the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur).

Frank López Reyes is the new Deputy Director of the Institutional Liaison of the QR Government Secretariat

Lezama Espinosa thanked the outgoing director Francisco López Reyes for his work “and wished him every success in future projects.”

Frank López has been reassigned a new position as Deputy Director of the QR Government Secretariat’s Institutional Liaison, replacing Francisco Rello Aguilar.
