AAA seeing a pointy improve in journey bookings | Information

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) – The pandemic has hit the aviation industry hard, but as more people are being vaccinated, restrictions are being lifted and air traffic has increased across the country.

Lots of people had to cancel trips last year, and now you may run out of time to rebook.

AAA said there has been a sharp increase in travel bookings.

“Sun and fun destinations are extremely popular. We still see people making reservations for our theme parks, ”said Micki Dudas, director of leisure travel sales at AAA.

Dudas has said since March 2020 this is the busiest season AAA has seen for people thinking about travel.

“A lot of people who have had to cancel their reservations due to COVID have travel vouchers. So Triple A is encouraging people to use and redeem these coupons, ”she said.

Experts said people should look closely at these expiration dates and plan accordingly. Also, don’t expect deep discounts as prices keep rising.

“Understand that supply and demand will feed into your travel arrangements. We see where people want to go, they have to book early. Because a lot of people plan to do the same, ”said Dudas.

Also, keep in mind that you have to pay more for rental cars.

“We know that rental cars are a bit limited, so if you are considering a trip and need a car rental, we encourage people to get this reservation in advance,” said Dudas.

In fact, many car rental companies were selling vehicles at the height of the pandemic when travel came to a standstill.

With many COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines still in place, more people have relied on travel advisors, according to the AAA.

“It’s our job to help travelers make sure they understand what a different travel experience is like in 2021 and 2022,” said Dudas.

The Centers for Disease Control said travelers who were fully vaccinated were less likely to get and spread COVID-19.

“I think the most important thing for us is that we want to be prepared for the summer. We are obviously going to great lengths to ensure this,” said Susan Tashiro of the Transportation Security Administration.

TSA is hiring more people, expecting the trip to come back sooner than expected.
