CAIRO – June 2, 2021: The Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board [ETPB] under the direction of the Minister for Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el-Enany and discussed mechanisms and proposals for the promotion of tourism in Egypt in the coming period.

The board also discussed the event agenda of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities as well as other ministries over the next three months and also discussed the possibility of using this to promote Egypt.

Enany emphasized the importance of a unified event agenda for Egypt. He spoke about some of the Ministry’s upcoming events, such as the opening of the Sphinx Avenue restoration project in Luxor and the Mohammed Alis Palace in Shubra.

The board reviewed the ministry’s media strategy. Enany said it should be ready within two months, after which a three-year international advertising campaign for Egypt will be launched before the fall of the year.

The meeting also discussed the ministry’s social media platforms, Experience Egypt, and the travel exhibitions that the ETPB recently participated in.

In addition, the board spoke about organizing road shows in a number of counties. They recommended that a working group be set up between the ETPB and representatives of the private tourism sector in order to come up with a joint plan to promote tourism in Egypt in the various world markets.

The meeting emphasized the importance of benefiting from Egypt’s participation in Dubai Expo 2020 to promote tourism. It is scheduled to start in October 2021 and will last 6 months.

The board members were informed about the establishment of a shooting and editing department in the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Office, which is to be used for the production of advertising films as well as for the shooting of various events.
