Remodeled from the W Hotel and opened in December, Hotel Colee is Buckhead’s first hotel in the Autograph Collection Hotels group under the Marriott brand.

And those in charge of the new hotel are doing their best to adopt the Autograph Collection’s mantra of being “just like nothing else”.

“It stands for energy, diversity and inclusivity. … It’s the ability to add diversity to the brand structure, ”said General Manager Michael Farquharson of the Colee name.

He and others shared more details about the hotel on their virtual tour on February 23. The Autograph Collection has nearly 200 hotels in its global portfolio, including five more in Georgia and four more in Metro Atlanta. The Hotel Colee is owned by Woodbine Development Corp. under the Marriott brand. and is operated by Practice Hospitality based in Dallas, Texas.

According to a press release, one of the changes in the transition to the Hotel Colee is the lobby, which has been transformed into a barbershop and beauty salon “where we have historically done our best”.

Andrew Alford, director of Andrew Alford Creative, brings a design eye that remixes “classic southern-style signatures – pastels, prints, and pops of color,” the press release said.

Alford, a native of Portland from Oregon, said of the design: “We will have a lot of artists activating their work in our space. What I love is when you wake up here, not just in Atlanta but Buckhead as well. … If you stay here you will really get the feeling for this community. “

He added that the design was made with the COVID-19 pandemic in mind.

“Anyone watching the world die right now after celebrations and all,” Alford said. “When we started this design there was an eye out for COVID. What will it look like after COVID? For me, I want to put on colorful clothes and celebrate my blue hair so everyone looks and feels the best they can. We want to celebrate history.

“Our design scheme contains subtle elements. We use calming and calming pastel colors. Then we have music that we add that is exciting. The W engaged with a group that was very energetic and didn’t have time for rest. The Hotel Colee makes a great contribution to harmonizing the emotions and behaviors of our guests. “

Farquharson says the room prices range from $ 150 to $ 300. Cook Hall, the W’s restaurant, closed when the property became the Colee Hotel, and he added that a new restaurant will open in the area in the third quarter of this year. Further details will be announced shortly. In the meantime, you can get food and drinks in the Lobby Bar and Whiskey Blue, as well as through room service.

Farquharson said the hotel plans to “target and partner with small businesses” to help local vendors amid the pandemic. The hotel has already started working with some.

“In addition, we want our hotel to be operational again so that we can stimulate the local economy,” he said.

The hotel is located at 3377 Peachtree Road in Atlanta. For more information, visit www.hotelcolee.com.
