Hotels in England cannot reopen until May 17th at the earliest, but there is a catch: Since other parts of hospitality are back in action from April 12th, many are taking the opportunity to “Hotel-Lite” in the five hotels in between. – Offer experiences for weeks, from restaurants to self-catering pivots and even spas. Here are some of the best, great fun!

The pigs, England

The restaurants may be open for al fresco dining from April 12th, including in hotels. The Pig offers a three-course lunch menu on all terraces and in tents on terraces and in tents. Most of them are on extensive grounds with beautiful vegetable gardens. The pop-up restaurants known as “The Big Outdoor Lunch” offer spring harvest produce from the vegetable garden, as well as meat from local farmers and fish from nearby ports – up to £ 50 per head (thepighotel.com). Heaters, blankets and fire pits will also be available. The new and popular lobster shed at The Pig at Harlyn will even have a retractable cover for rainy dates (note, however, that they have their own menu, not the set one).
